Dairy Certification
Following the farm inspection, the assessor will submit their findings to NIFCC and a Certification Officer will review the information to ensure that the producer meets the requirements of the Assured Dairy Farms Scheme Standard. If a producer is a new applicant, they must be fully compliant with the scheme standard prior to their acceptance within the scheme.
Each producer is informed in writing of the outcome of their inspection. If non-conformances exist, a time-scale of 60 days will be given to allow the producer sufficient time to carry out the remedial action.
The following are the most commonly occuring non-conformances, since inspections began in January 2009:
- Data sheets are not available for chemicals in use
- Milking machine test certificate is not available (the test certificate must state the BS Standard to which the machine has been tested)
- Milk withdrawal periods are not recorded correctly – should be detailed as date milk withdrawal period ends
- Emergency Contact Lists are not available and not displayed
- Farm Waste Management calculations & map are not available
