The inspector will check that the farmer has a positive attitude towards the countryside in the storage, use and disposal of all farm waste.

The inspector will ask to see the following at the inspection:

1. Silage effluent collection - silo(s) and round bale storage
2. Farmyard manure storage - yard and field middens
3. Slurry and dirty water storage

Slurry lagoon and collection facilities on farm must be adequately protected to ensure that there is no risk to humans and animals. Details on adequate protection of such can be found on Preventing Access to Effluent Storage and Similar Areas of Farm information sheet.
