Cereal Inspections

Inspections

NIFCC carry out routine surveillance inspections to ensure that growers continue to meet the Product Standard.

Inspection Scope

If the grower is also a member of the FQAS (Beef & Lamb), both inspections will be conducted at the same time. This means that the grain storage facilities will only be inspected once and this will reduce the number of inspections on farm from NIFCC.

Inspection Format

The inspector will check the grain storage area, harvesting equipment and scheme records during the inspection, further details below. A cereals inspection will usually be carried out in under an hour and when combined with a beef and lamb inspection will normally take between 2 and 2½ hours depending on the size of farm.

  1. Grain storage areas

  2. Harvesting equipment

  3. Field & Grain Records
