NIFCC inspect and certify a range of quality assurance schemes

NIFCC currently provide inspection and certification services for, four quality assurance schemes in Northern Ireland

NIFCC was set up in April 2001 to provide inspection and certification services to the Northern Ireland Agri-food industry at cost. At that time NIFCC provided this service solely to the Northern Ireland Farm Quailty Assured Beef and Lamb Scheme. However, in the last few years NIFCC has expanded its inspection and certification services to include other quality assurance schemes. The schemes are shown below: -

• Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assurance Scheme (Beef & Lamb)
• Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured Cereals Scheme
• ABM Livestock Transport Scheme
• ABM Livestock Markets Scheme

In 2007, NIFCC carried out approximately 8770 inspections across the four schemes. With around 325 participants availing of a joint inspection for two of the schemes. Joint inspections reduce the number of inspections on farm and participants who benefit from this service are also eligible for a discount in their annual renewal fee.
