Inspection Interval

NIFCC carry out routine surveillance inspections to ensure that approved hauliers continue to meet the Product Standard. Surveillance inspections will involve a full inspection against the requirements of the ABM Product Standard. Routine surveillance inspections will take place at approximately 12 month intervals.

Inspection Scope

The vehicle inspection covers the transport of cattle, sheep and pigs.  An inspection will normally take between 1 and 1½ hours depending on the number of vehicles to be inspected.

The inspector will check the three areas of the ABM Product Standard, as shown below.
