Documentation For Employees And Livestock

The following documentation is required to be completed for the inspection:

Employee Documentation

  • Current Driving Licence for all drivers - drivers must hold a statuatory licence to drive the type of goods vehicle to be used

  • Training record - these records should reflect either in-house or external training for all drivers

Livestock Documentation

  • ABM Delivery Notes or copies of MC2 or MS2 - movement documentation available for each batch of livestock transported, these should be kept for 12 months

  • Contingency Plan - this plan should cover the transport of ill, injured or unfit livestock, vehicle breakdowns and a list of emergency contacts

  • Complaints Record - the haulier should keep a written record of complaints received, relating to etiher the vehicle or animals during transport, and the action taken

  • Guidance on the Transport of Casualty Animals - this should be signed and dated to show that it has been read and understood

  • MHS Clean Livestock Policy - this should be signed and dated to show that it has been read and understood

  • Transport Authorisation Certificate - this is issued by DARD to all hauliers of livestock over 65km

  • Vehicle Approval Certificate - this is required for any haulier who transports livestock on journeys of over eight hours
