Surveillance audits are carried out every 18 months against the Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured Scheme (Beef & Lamb) Standard. 10% of approved producers are spot checked every year. Spot checks may be random or targeted for risk management purposes.
NIBL FQAS is a voluntary scheme and participation is open to all beef and lamb producers in Northern Ireland. Certification will only be granted to producers who conform to the product standard and follow the scheme rules.
Membership fees are due annually and can be paid online, over the phone or via cheque.
